Collection: Boston Shakers
Boston shakers use two pieces: a large metal tin and a smaller compatible tin or purpose-made shaking glass. A separate strainer is needed for pouring.
Choose a set or a replacement tin
-
Starting from scratch: choose a matched pair. Check whether a strainer and jigger are included.
-
Replacing one piece: check the model and dimensions. An 18 oz tin alone is not a complete shaker, and nominal capacity does not guarantee compatibility.
-
Weighted or unweighted: compare the construction of both tins. Weight can change the feel; it does not by itself prove a better seal or faster chilling.
-
Capacity: listed ounces describe each vessel. Leave room for ice and movement rather than filling a tin to the rim.
